Noise Reduction Earbuds Versus Noise Cancelling Earbuds

Noise reduction earbuds are designed in such a way as to have a very tight fit into your ear so that it blocks out the background noises. This is also known as passive noise reduction.

Noise cancellation earbuds produce sounds that actually cancel external sounds that are reaching your ears. It works by using a tiny microphone in the casing which samples the background noises. It then feeds this noise to some electronic circuits which processes the sound so that it reverses the sound (in a sense) and combines this reversed sound with the original background noise thus "cancelling" the noise. This is also known as active noise reduction.

Which type is better?

Noise canceling earbuds work best with steady, low frequency noises. For example, an airplane engine or the traffic sounds you hear inside a dwelling that is located next to a busy street. Voices, sounds that vary in pitches and many higher frequency sounds are best handled by noise reduction earbuds. Also be aware that some noise cancelling earbuds require batteries to operate.

Regardless of which method you choose, pick one as this will allow you to protect your ears from damages while listening to loud music.

Noise Reduction Earbuds Replaces Your Current Earbuds

You should replace the earbuds that come with your MP3 devices as they are usually poor in quality. You usually end up increasing volumes to dangerous levels in order to listen to your music.

Noise reduction earbuds comes in all shapes, colors, sizes and prices. The tips are usually made out of foam, rubber or silicon. They fit right into your ear canal. Price ranges from $20.00 and upwards into the two to three hundred dollar range. The best models are those in the hundred dollar range.

Noise Reduction Earbuds Will Save Your Ears

Without noise reduction earbuds, users (especially teenagers) will crank up the volume (reaching 120dB) to compensate for the background noise levels (for more than one hour) which is way too high.

The acceptable levels is around 90-95dB. This is very bad for your ears as the increased volume hitting your eardrums can lead to internal ear problems. One such problem is tinnitus. This is a medical term used to describe ringing noises in the ear when there is no such noise outside the body.

By wearing noise reduction earbuds, you can enjoy your music at a much lower level, thus protecting your ears from damages. As well, by lowering the volume, you will extend the battery life.

Noise Reduction Earbuds Main Feature

More and more people are using noise reduction earbuds to listen to music on their MP3 devices. It is becoming "cool" to wear these noise reduction earbuds in favour of the old types which wraps around your outer ears.

Noise reduction earbuds actually fits snuggly inside your ears and right into your ear canal. The close fit of the earbuds also help to enhance deep bass and treble clarity.

The main feature of noise reduction earbuds is that the outside background noise is greatly reduced thus allowing you to listen to music at a lower sound level. Bus and train passengers around you will thank you for it as they will not be subjected to the loud music that usually comes from cheap earbuds/headsets.

Noise Reduction Earbuds

Welcome to the noise reduction earbuds website.

I'm on a mini-crusade here trying to persuade those of you who are currently using the earbuds that comes with your MP3 device to switch over to noise reduction earbuds.

Why?

The earbuds that comes with your MP3 devices are usually of low quality which means that you will need to crank up the volume in order to hear the music against the background noises that you are daily faced with (city sound, bus, trains, etc.)

You need to seriously take care of your ears. If you do not take precautions to protect your ears, you'll end up with serious ear problems down the road. To protect your ears, you need noise reduction earbuds.

I know. I was a former DJ back in the 70s/80s at a Disco Club. Every night I would be subjecting my ears to 110db+ noise. I wish I had noise reduction earbuds back then. The only headgear I had was those big ugly headphones. Later in life, I developed a ringing noise in my left ear (the ear I used to monitor my mixings). It is not a nice experience. Imagine living with this noise in your ears 7/24/365. It can drive you crazy.

So what do you need to do next? You need to protect your ears with noise reduction earbuds. You'll thank me later on.
